Daily Devotional: Psalms 90:7-12
Ps 90:7-12
7 We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your indignation. 8 You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence. 9 All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan. 10 The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away. 11 Who knows the power of your anger? For your wrath is as great as the fear that is due you. 12 Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Acts 4:12
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name [than the name of Jesus rf] under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Eccl 12:13-14
13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
Jesus is Lord! Jesus is our Savior. Jesus is our Redeemer and he is the propitiation given for our sins. Jesus, the Son of God is the only one who can give us eternal life. He is the light of the world and he is the door that leads to heaven. Jesus is our shepherd and we are the sheep of his pasture. He is also our brother and he is our friend. He intercedes for us before the Father and defends us against the accusations of the devil. He will live in us now so we can live with him forever.
As a part of being saved from our sin, Jesus gives us the Spirit to live in us and to guide us and to empower us to live for him and to mold us into his image. It is the Spirit who washes us with the blood of Jesus and renews our hearts to be set on living for Jesus. He also helps us pray, as he takes the thoughts from our minds and our hearts because we have no idea how to say what we feel to the Father.
Jesus is the answer to our problems in life. The more we give ourselves to him and to his will, the more at peace we will become and the happier we will be. We must keep our eyes on him and on the things above until we are with him there.
Lord God, I just want to thank you for your love, for your wisdom and for your marvelous grace shown to me (and to all mankind) in Jesus and the salvation provided in him. It is such a joy to be able to live all day and sleep at night, knowing that you have forgiven me and that you are always with me, and keeping me in your care. I, like everyone else, struggle at times and I falter but you are always beside me and pick me up. Use me to show your love and your grace to others around me so they will serve you too. I humbly pray in Jesus name.
