About Ephesus
The purpose of the Ephesus church of Christ is to simply be Christians, just like the ones we read about in the New Testament. Like those early Christians, we are blessed to have been called out from the darkness of this world into the glorious light of Jesus Christ. As Christians, our goals are:
- To serve and worship God according to His inspired word, the Holy Bible. (John 4:23-24, II Timothy 3:16)
- To teach the good news of Jesus Christ and His redeeming sacrifice to those who are lost. (Mark 16:15, Romans 5:8-11)
- To do good works, not to earn our salvation, but because we have received the free gift of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. (James 2:14-26, Romans 6:23)
- To spend eternity in Heaven in the presence of God the Father, and Jesus Christ our Savior. (John 14:1-6, I Thessalonians 4:17)
As a church, we strive to adhere to the New Testament example of what the church is supposed to be. We are an independent congregation of the Lord’s Church in that we are not associated with any man-made institution or organization. Our Elders oversee the work of our congregation independent of any external authority, except for that found in the word of God. As such, we do not adhere to any man-made creed or doctrine, but rather hold to God’s Word as our standard for worship and living. He tells us that He has revealed everything we need to know to live a godly life (II Pet. 1:3), therefore we look to the scriptures for authority in all we do as a church.
If you would like to experience a church of loving individuals who care about each other, who want to please God by simply looking to His word for guidance, and who have the common goal of reaching Heaven after this life ends, we invite you to visit us at one of our services.
