Daily Devotional: Psalms 68:7-14
Ps 68:7-14
7 When you went out before your people, O God, when you marched through the wasteland, Selah 8 the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain, before God, the one of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel. 9 You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance. 10 Your people settled in it, and from your bounty, O God, you provided for the poor. 11 The Lord announced the word, and great was the company of those who proclaimed it: 12 "Kings and armies flee in haste; in the camps men divide the plunder. 13 Even while you sleep among the campfires, the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold." 14 When the Almighty scattered the kings in the land, it was like snow fallen on Zalmon.
Acts 7:35-36
35 "This is the same Moses whom they had rejected with the words, 'Who made you ruler and judge?' He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 He led them out of Egypt and did wonders and miraculous signs in Egypt, at the Red Sea and for forty years in the desert.
Everything in our minds and in our world has limits. It is almost impossible for us to even grasp the concept of anything without limits of time, space, power or age or endurance. It either runs out, burns out, goes out or wears out. With God there are no limits. There is nothing stronger than God. He is infinitely wise. Nothing escapes his notice or his concern. His goodness and his love know no bounds. God is both infinite in every way and eternal in nature.
This means when God is on our side, there is no problem too great for him to have a solution. No heartache or burden is too heavy for him to lift. The masses of people or the majority of any nation cannot stand against the will of God when he decides to act and change things. Our God is in control of his creation.
But best of all, God has already won the victory over sin and death. When we turn to Jesus in faith, we can have our sins forgiven and we can have the promise of eternal life with him in heaven. Our God is our strength and our shield.
O God, my heavenly Father, I thank you and praise you for your great majesty, your infinite power and your incomprehensible wisdom shown to me every day in your creation. Thank you for your matchless love and boundless grace extended to me in the sacrifice of Jesus, your Son and my Savior. Give me wisdom to be what you want me to be. Help me understand and incorporate your compassion and your love in my heart and in my life so I can be forgiving to others, even as you are forgiving to me. Use me in your will. I pray in the name of Jesus.
