Daily Devotional: Psalms 21:8-13
Ps 21:8-13
8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes. 9 At the time of your appearing you will make them like a fiery furnace. In his wrath the LORD will swallow them up, and his fire will consume them. 10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind. 11 Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed; 12 for you will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow. 13 Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.
Rev 7:9-12
9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." 11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!"
It does not matter who the enemy, God is the victor. When Satan wars against the people of God on earth, we can always win with God on our side. He provides a way of escape for every temptation that comes our way. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. So long as we put our trust in God and not in ourselves or in the things of this world we can overcome. Our downfall is when we doubt God.
The greatest victory is not one that we will see in this life. No matter what we face now, we have a promise of a better place in eternity. We often long to know more about heaven and life in eternity but God has only given us some pictures to give us a glimpse. Our human minds could not actually fathom the reality of the glory of God or being in his eternal presence. Praise God for his grace!
O Lord God, I am so thankful for your provision of grace in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Give me a heart of submission to your will and trust in your wisdom. You know what is best for me in every situation and I ask you to help me know how to walk each day as your Spirit guides me. Thank you for so many Christians who are an encouragement to me, even those whom I have never met. Use me to reach with the gospel those who are not serving you. Give peace and healing to those who are faced with all kinds of problems, trials and sickness. Help me love others as you love me. I pray in the name of Jesus my Lord and my Savior.
