Daily Devotional: Psalms 93:1-5
Ps 93:1-5
1 The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. 2 Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. 3 The seas have lifted up, O LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. 4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea--the LORD on high is mighty. 5 Your statutes stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days, O LORD.
Mark 9:21-24
21 And He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood. 22 "And it has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!" 23 And Jesus said to him, "'If You can!' All things are possible to him who believes." 24 Immediately the boy's father cried out and began saying, "I do believe; help my unbelief."
We live in a world filled with limitations. We have limited knowledge on every subject and limited wisdom on how to use this knowledge. We have limits on the power to do many things with some of them seemingly impossible. There are limits on our time and on space around us. Which of us has not dreamed of lifting our arms and soaring like the eagle in the sky? But we have our limitations.
God has no limits. He alone is infinite in his knowledge and wisdom. He has no limits to his power or ability to perform. The strongest waves of the sea are under his control and the mighty winds are but a breath to him. Time has no consequence with God and is reckoned only as it pertains to his plan for mankind and this earth. God is eternal with no beginning and no end. He lives forever.
We can trust God in all things. He knows our needs before we ask and has the answers to our problems before they are presented to us. He has the ability to make it rain or bring drought upon us. He can heal every disease or smite the whole world with a plague. Yet, all of his power and his wisdom are channeled toward us to bring us into his glory by the sacrificial blood of Jesus on our behalf.
Heavenly Father it is so wonderful to live without fear or worry about the things around me and to know that you are in control. Help my unbelief when I doubt or when I am overtaken by fear. Thank you for my physical family and for the love we share with each other. Thank you for the opportunities you have provided me in this life to become what I am today. Thank you for my spiritual family in Jesus that provides me with more brothers and sisters than I can know and for the love and encouragement each gives to me and to each other. I pray in Jesus name.
