Daily Devotional: Psalms 74:10-17

Ps 74:10-17

10 How long will the enemy mock you, O God? Will the foe revile your name forever? 11 Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand? Take it from the folds of your garment and destroy them! 12 But you, O God, are my king from of old; you bring salvation upon the earth. 13 It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters. 14 It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave him as food to the creatures of the desert. 15 It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever-flowing rivers. 16 The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. 17 It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.

2 Thess 1:8-10

8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

If we could see things from God’s point of view, we would have a different perspective on most of life. We get so caught up with all the things around us and the activities that keep us so busy that we forget what really matters. When we enjoy the beauty of the earth and give God the glory, we are honoring him. When we love others as he loves us, we praise him because God is love.

God made everything that exists, even the things that have not yet been seen or discovered by mankind. As people continue to explore the oceans and outer space, new discoveries are being made but God made it all in the beginning. Even with the human bodies, scientist are learning more and more each day about the wonderful plan that God put into place with Adam and Eve.

This all-wise and all-powerful God loves you and me and wants us to live with him in eternity. He has made it possible through his Son and it is up to us to accept his marvelous grace. It is sad indeed that many will reject his gift of salvation.

O Lord God I am so thankful for your love and your grace shown to me in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross. Help me be more devoted to you every day and to show the love of Jesus to all around me. I am thankful for this nation and all of the freedoms I enjoy and ask you to be with our leaders and guide them. Be with those who are sick and who are suffering and give them healing. Thank you for my friends and family that make life pleasant. I pray in Jesus name.
