Daily Devotional: Psalms 89:1-8
Ps 89:1-8
1 I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. 2 I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself. 3 You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, 4 'I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.'" Selah 5 The heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones. 6 For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? 7 In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. 8 O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
God is good. God is faithful. He is steadfast and he will always be ready to help us and give us what we need in Jesus Christ. This means that no matter what we face today, we can be assured that it will all be ok. That does not mean it will not hurt or that it will not be difficult but it means he will see us through it all. We can rejoice in the Lord because he is faithful and he is near!
As we focus on the good things in life, we find our hearts lifted. Even in the worst of moments, we see a baby smile and we smile. The more we focus on, and the more we actually rehearse, the good things, the happier we will be (not to mention how much happier those around us will be too!). There is so much good in the world and so much beauty so we need to open our eyes and enjoy it.
Most people are struggling about something and what they need most today is a smile. A word of kindness or a smile is something that every one of us can give away today. And the wonderful thing is that when we give it, we benefit just as much as the one to whom it is given. Share the joy of Jesus with someone today.
O Lord God, give me a heart of joy and peace and help me show everyone around me how much you love me and how much your love overflows in me. Give me a positive attitude about life, about things around me and about other people so I will look for the good and not be negative. Help me put my focus on you and on the things above instead of myself and my problems or concerns. Thank you, Lord for the friends and family that you have put in my life that have helped me so much over the years, in so many ways. I humbly pray in Jesus name.
