Daily Devotional: Psalms 31:21-24
Ps 31:21-24
Praise be to the LORD, for he showed his wonderful love to me when I was in a besieged city. In my alarm I said, "I am cut off from your sight!" Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.
Jude 24-25
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
As Christians, we all have a lot for which to be thankful. One of the great blessings we enjoy is the fellowship and love of our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a joy to be able to share our feelings and to confess our faults and to know that the one listening will rejoice with us when we rejoice and will not judge us when we fail to be all we should be. Rather, they lift us up to the Father and ask his mercy for us.
As Christians, with families, we enjoy sharing our faith with our spouse. We revel in the times we can discuss the Word and share our understanding, and then work together to see how we can live it in our lives. It is a true privilege to have children, and to be able to share the love of Jesus with them as we teach them to trust and obey the Lord. We thank God for our earthly families, for our children, our grandchildren, our parents, our siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Among all the blessings we enjoy, the greatest are the spiritual blessing we have in Christ Jesus. The hope, the assurance, the joy, the peace, and the constant love that allows us to live with a clear conscience. As we anticipate the great judgment day, we face it with the promise that he will present us to the Father without fault or sin being held against us. His assurance to us is that there is no condemnation to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. Those he loves, he justifies, and his promise is that nothing on earth can separate us from the love of Christ. As we love him and serve him, his blood cleanses us.
O Lord God, thank you for your love, your compassion, your mercy, your grace, and your forgiveness in Jesus Christ. Thank you for the many brothers and sisters in Christ who show their love to me and encourage me daily. Thank you for the opportunities to share your word over the internet and to be able to attempt to lift others up in their faith. Thank you for allowing me to be your servant. Increase my faith, give me wisdom, empower me to serve you and those around me. Give your peace to those who are struggling. Thank you in the name of Jesus.
